Mines & Quarry Survey

Drone mapping and survey in mining is gaining importance in mine survey all over the world due to its very high accuracy and quality and also lesser time when compared to Traditional survey .Unmanned Aerial mapping with DGPS survey gives very high Centimetre level accuracy. UAV survey using Drone in mines and interpretation of fly records to generate reports like cadastral plan with all surface futures with maximum accuracy and volume measurements of the excavated area and stock. To prepare topographical plan, contour plan, bench parameters, 3 D modeling, stock volume measurements etc., The process involves Surveying Mining lease boundary with DGPS and UAV (Drone) and post processing the flight data in precise software to produce the following outputs.

Geo –referenced Mine boundary plan with geo referencing each and every points.(One mine boundary plan)

Preparation of Geo referenced Cadastral plan is mandatory as per circular .With drone and DGPS, we are under taking a survey for Geo referencing the mine boundary pillars and delineating the mine boundary with very accuracy and speed

Topographical plan and contour plan with intervals of 0.5 m and above.(contour plan).

Topographic gives 2D presentation of the actual surface with high resolution and accuracy .It gives high resolution geo referenced maps with co ordinates and elevation Topographical plan with accurate contour lines with required intervals. Suitable all type survey for all projects. Use full for planning, mine design and monitoring purposes and also update the mine at regular intervals at less time .

Mine management and operational plan for planning

The day to day or weekly monitoring of the pits by using precise information about grade, area, lines, and volume through 3D terrain models to monitor infrastructure such as haul roads, ramps, and benches.

Use more detailed geotechnical data to improve slope stability, which can result in greater safety and savings from reduced slope failures.

Regular Safety inspections of all the operations and also monitor the traffic movements of vehicles.

Stock pile management and volume estimation for excavated area –

Aerial data to increase efficiency and accuracy. By providing thousands of data points for stockpile, drone surveys are far more accurate than surveying with Total stations

(TS)/Differential global positioning system (DGPS). All surface unevenness and undulation are identified. The surveys make it possible to reduce the deviation in stockpile volume calculations, to generate improved base files for stockpiling, and to produce more accurate financial Statements and regulatory checks.

  • Raw material stock volume measurements
  • Dump volume
  • Excavated volume
  • Volume estimation for proposed operations and planning

Drilling & blasting monitoring and analyses-Manage blast performances, volume, swell factor and more. Blast exclusion clearance and after blast inspection and fragmentation analysis

Tailing Dam management and slope monitoring.

Periodic monitoring the Dailing dams and its slopes, Safety inspections of the berms, leakages, gullies &erosion, any weak points to require immediate attention tec

Orthomosaic Map:

An orthophoto or orthomosaic is a large image of an area which can be used to measure actual distances between any two given points on the image. A normal photograph, as taken from above is not uniform in terms of scale (It means that the ratio of the distance between two points on a photo to the actual distance between the same two points on the ground is not equal). However, an orthomosaic is such that the scale of the image to the actual ground is uniform, thus, representing the Earth’s actual surface.

3D point cloud/3D textured mesh

A 3D representation of the real-world in form of points. In other words, it is a collection of a large number of points/pixels (>1 crore) where each point has X, Y and Z location in a given 3D coordinate system, and also a corresponding R, G, B colour value, such that all the points when combined according to their position in the coordinate system, it looks a digital copy of the real world.

Digital elevation model (DEM)

It can be referred as Digital Height Model. Thus, a digital elevation model (DEM) is a representation of a terrain’s surface only in terms of its height.

Digital Terrain Model (DTM)

It is similar to a digital surface model, except it represents only the bare surface of the earth, without including any height information about the structures above ground such as buildings, trees, etc. It is a bare earth model.

Digital Surface Model (DSM):

ADigital surface model is a digital representation of the Earth’s surface (in terms of height). In other words, DSM provides the height of all the points on Earth as seen from above such as buildings, trees etc

Haul road optimization and safety and slope monitoring

Useful for Haul road design and optimization of slope/gradient, safety and traffic monitoring and management.
